Origin of the term 'Kojagori' in Kojagori Lakshmi Puja?

The term "Kojagari" comes from Sanskrit "Ko Jagorti," meaning "Who is awake?"


On Kojagari Lakshmi Puja, Goddess Lakshmi comes from heaven to bless people.


She visits every home to offer her blessings.

If a house's door is closed, Lakshmi does not enter and leaves without blessing.


This is why there is a tradition of staying awake during the night of the puja.


Worshipping Lakshmi while staying awake all night is a special part of this celebration.
